Pedestrian Arts is a not-for-profit arts education organisation that has been delivering projects and workshops since 1998. We provide education and training in a wide range of urban art forms, street sports, and the media. Due to an increase in demand for the work we do we are currently seeking freelance tutors to join our team of tutors in Leicestershire. You need to be passionate about your art form, able to engage the hardest to reach young people, and have or be able to undergo a CRB check. They are particularly interested in hearing from practioners that are able to teach Media (Animation, Video Production, Drama, Radio Production, Photography, and Graphic Design), Urban Artforms (Aerosol Art, Turntablism, DJing, MCing, and Music Production) and Street Sports (Parkour, Street Dance, Break Dance, Freestyle Football). Dance Development for Leicester-Shire & Rutland and Arts Development (Youth Offending) will be delivering a programme of dance for young people aged 16-19 years who are at risk of offending behaviour, 13 – 19th September 2010 at The Y in Leicester. We have the opportunity to offer four placements to dance practitioners interested in working in this area. The placements come with a bursary of £300. A number of adults with learning disabilities in Rutland would like to be involved in music/dance/drama. We are looking for tutors, initially on a voluntary basis to lead a few sessions/workshops in any of the above subjects to give people a taster and to see about starting a more permanent group. This would be an ideal opportunity for anyone wishing to gain some teaching experience with people with learning disabilities. northantsDance are looking for five dynamic and experienced Dance artists to be involved in an exciting new dance project in Northamptonshire. The dance artists would be required to lead a 10 week programme of classes based in secondary schools in Northamptonshire leading to a performance. You would need to be available from July 2010 to lead a taster session and from September 2010 to lead the 10 week block of classes. You would also be required to mentor a young apprentice throughout the project and support the young people participating through the Arts Award. The dance artist would be required to have experienced in working with young people and also experience in developing choreography with young people.
